Kamyar is a registered architect and LEED Green Associate. He studied Master of Urban Design in University of Toronto and Master and Bachelor of Architecture in Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran. He is also a member of Toronto Society of Architects and Registered Construction Expert Witness in Tehran.
Kamyar is an enthusiastic architect and urban designer with more than 15 years of experience in design, detailing, research and presentation in Canada and the Middle East. Before and after establishing Nira Architects, Kamyar has been a key design team member in a number of acclaimed practices such as Hariri Pontarini Architects, CS&P Architects, Moriyama & Teshima and Urban Strategies. The scope of his experience varies in scale (from interior design to city master planning) and in type (from institutional, cultural, justice facilities, commercial, adaptive reuse to 500,000 m2/95 storeys mixed use development). His educational and professional experience in the fields of architecture and urban design in both Canada and the Middle East have provided him a comprehensive exposure to the practice of architecture with all its significance, challenges and limitations. Beside professional practice, he held an academic position and implemented different research projects which have been published and presented in different venues in Canada.
